Initial Consultation
Sexual and relationship problems can be complex and troubling.
An initial consultation gives you a chance to explore whether therapy might help you.
However, taking that first step of booking an initial consultation can be hard, especially if you feel anxious about talking openly with a therapist, or maybe worried about how your partner might respond. That said, after the first session many couples feel relieved at last to have talked to someone who is empathic and supportive to both partners.
If you and I agree to continue after the first meeting, couple therapy then creates a regular weekly space and time for you to talk to each other about your difficulties. You are likely to gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your partner and the roots of repeated, distressing patterns of relating.
A new understanding may give you a fresh perspective that helps you work through problems.
As a result, you may develop a more creative partnership.
